Installation
- Decide where you are going to mount your power supply and plug it in (you can always mount it later).
- Plug in the H.Q. charger and tele-cable.
- Decide where you will be mounting your Roboguards, ensuring you are covering the area sufficiently. We have programmed your guards in order, and the number on the back corresponds with the zone on the HQ. 1-4 and then 1b-4b if you have more than 4 guards. Ensure you install them and remember their “zone”. This will help you determine “which” zone or part of your garden was activated
- Mount your lower beam to the height of your largest dog’s head or no lower than your knee.
- Mark your bracket position and drill the holes with a 5.5/6 mm drill bit about 40mm deep (into walls/ masonry) or the appropriate hole size for wood and steel.
- Mount the flat bracket and then attach the guard (as it was supplied to you).
- Try mounting the guard straight and level and tighten up the mounts.
- Install your siren strobe by extending your cable with 2core(or 4core doubled) alarm cable, preferably to the access point of your garden (ie above garage etc)
- NB! DO NOT REMOVE THE BLACK LENSE COVERS ON YOUR ROBOGUARD THEY ARE MEANT TO BE THERE.
- SWITCH ON YOUR HQ’S INTERNAL BATTERY PACK USING THE SWITCH ON THE UNDERSIDE OF THE HQ BEFORE USE.
Walk Test
Now that you have installed your Roboguards you will want to ensure that the beams are activating correctly. To do this:
- Undo the screw on the battery cover of the Roboguard with the allen key provided. Pull the cover slightly toward you and down until it comes away from the guard.
- The Roboguard will emit 4 continuous beeps and a Tamper alarm(10 beeps) will go off on your H.Q. The guard is now in walk test mode.
- The Roboguard will now talk to you in a succession of beeps.
- One beep indicates only the bottom beam has been triggered.
- Two beeps indicates only the top beam has been triggered.
- Three beeps indicates that both beams have been triggered together (Ideal).
- Now walk across the arc of the guard at increasing distances, as long as you hear 3 beeps along your walk, the guard is seeing you and in effect will see an intruder.
- If you are only hearing a single or a double beep, adjust the guard position until you hear the three beeps.
- Repeat this process for each guard.
- Replace the battery cover in the reverse of how you took it off.
Arming Your System (Deluxe Kits Only)
- Now let’s start communication between the Guards and the H.Q.
- Push the buttons labeled 1 – 4 on the H.Q. corresponding with the guards you have just installed. (B zones will also be armed if applicable)
- When the LED’s are solid green, the H.Q. will be listening to the guards,
- Arm the system - With the guards active (green LED’s solid on H.Q.), push and hold the white/grey button on your Remote. You will hear a single beep (armed)
- Both the trouble and tamper LED’s on the HQ will now be on.
- When a Guard detects an intruder your system will emit the alarm from the internal buzzer inside the power supply and from the siren/strobe (if switched on).
- Push and hold the white/grey button again and the alarm will silence but the system will still be armed. If the white/grey button is pressed again, you will hear 3 beeps. The system is now disarmed but the three beeps indicate (Someone Was Here).
- If an alarm was not triggered, you will only hear 2 beeps (dis-armed).
- The red button on your remote is a panic button and will set off the alarm whether the system is armed or not and can be silenced again using the white button.
- The blue button is the silent panic and is useful mainly if you are linked to an armed response, therefore not alarming the intruder but silently notifying the armed response company. (Not normally programmed unless requested).
- The green button is used to locate your H.Q. if you have carried it around and forgot where you left it or it can be used for other auxiliary functions (Front electric gate being the most popular in conjunction with our universal receiver).
Installation Of Bracket
- Remove batteries
- Choose suitable “ring” on back of Roboguard (normally one up from centre) 2 outer rings cannot be used. Drill out with 5,5mm drill bit
- Place “head” of bolt inside battery housing and secure to bracket with nut on outside
- Replace batteries.
